Stacia grew up in rural Upstate New York and after graduating with her teaching credentials, taught her way throughout her 20’s and never settled long in one place. That all changed in 2008 when she ventured to Alaska for what she thought would be a one year stay to teach special education in Anchorage. She traveled throughout the state and eventually met someone who loved outdoor adventures as much as her. She settled down with her husband for four years in Bristol Bay, where he had resided for almost 20 years and had no intention of leaving. In spring of 2014 they traveled to Prince of Wales, where they were both enchanted by amazing opportunities for adventure that are unique to the island and felt compelled to make the move with their one-year-old daughter shortly thereafter. Stacia has enjoyed teaching special education in the Craig City School District and, as a result, quickly developed close ties to the community.
