Mike moved to Ketchikan when he was 10 years old. After high school graduation, Mike went off to college, married his high school sweetheart, and started a family – in that order. Returning to Alaska after college Mike started a career in banking focusing on residential real estate and commercial lending. In 1983 Mike and wife, Michal Beth, purchased a wholesale distribution business in Sitka. Starting with one location and 4 employees they grew the business to 5 Alaska locations and over 100 employees.
From 1983 through 2004 between raising a family and growing the wholesale business Mike was involved in coaching his son’s baseball team from Little League through Senior League while serving multiple terms as president of the local swim club and staying active with community events and their children’s activities.
In 1996 Mike and Michal Beth return to Ketchikan and purchased a beautiful beachfront lot where they built their dream home complete with a dock and a boat house. All the children are married with families and careers of their own and 7 grand children are the order of the day. Two of the children and their families have made Ketchikan their home and the oldest son and his wife live in Vancouver, Washington.
The wholesale business sold in 2006 and Mike and Michal Beth took the opportunity to travel abroad and explore always returning to Ketchikan in time for hunting, fishing and quality time with the grandkids.
In 2007 Mike started his real estate career. Having lived most of his life in Ketchikan and SE Alaska, Mike has great connections in the business and banking community. Mike serves on the Board of Directors with First Bank. Mike enjoys working with buyers and sellers and loves “working the deal” from start to finish.
